The Ship Song for me is a ‘relationship song’ – it reminds me of a relationship which for me was very fulfilling – at the time. The lyrics roll a lot of wants together into a beautiful word picture – love, protection, freedom, independence, mystery, union, doubt, renewal and surrender. It is a song that makes me wish that the people I love have at least one love that leaves then feeling like ‘when I crawl into your arms, well, everything comes tumbling down’.
