I love the entire Hot August Nights album, especially on vinyl, but you said I
had to pick one song so Cherry Cherry it is. This song never fails to make me
HAPPY and DANCEY. Yes, all caps.
The jangly guitars, hand claps, whooping men, keyboard solos, a growly Neil,
the ever-present tambourine, the cover art. Neil has been part of many of my favorite memories: a long time companion on
car trips, weddings, drunken evenings spent listening to records with friends,
the apartment in Turner, slow dancing with the other Hargner at home just cos
WE DO WHATEVER WE WANT TO.
Those jangly guitars are just the best.
